Duro is the oldest continuously running wallcovering factory in Scandinavia. The company was founded in 1930 with a vision of producing wallpapers of high technical quality. The name Duro refers to “durability”. Duro uses the surface printing method in the production. We add 15-20 times as much ink to our products compared to what is generally used in other printing methods. The richness in ink and other qualities gives us outstanding wallpapers with a hand painted impression. In our modern laboratory we continuously work with improvements in procedures and innovations in material. We use pigments of the highest light fastness, i.e. 6-8 (on a scale 1-8) and our wallapers are extra washable. For more than 50 years we have made products which are kind to our environment. This means that we use only water-based inks and coatings, free from solvents and PVC. All material used for new product development is chosen with the care for nature as our guide. Duro has been appointed as a supplier to the Royal Swedish Court by three kings. The first appointment was already in 1946. Today we share this honour by only 120 other Swedish companies. It means that the Swedish Court is really using our products, which is a proof of high quality.
